Why I Want to Be an Army Officer
The United States of America is the first democratic country in the world. It has a glorious history to transform a former English colony on the American continent into a new state formation called a federal democratic republic. The huge work has been fulfilled to create an American nation from immigrants from Europe and Asia, former African slaves, and indigenous tribes of native peoples. The American Revolutionary War (1775-1783), the American Civil War (1861-1865), and the Reconstruction are the milestones of the future policy of the United States as a democratic federal republic defending ideals of democracy and human rights. It was precisely the circumstance that preserved the United States to become a new empire in the world. Moreover, since the very beginning, the United States has assisted colonies of European countries in becoming independent countries, developing civil society, and establishing democratic forms of governing. Together with the dissertation introduction help I wrote my thoughts about why I want to be an army officer more correctly. The contemporary political climate for establishing peaceful coexistence in the whole world is far from ideal conditions. Disintegration of the Soviet Union and world’s communist system did not put an end to the problems of military confrontation. The fact is that the Russian Federation with its policy of the so-called the Russian world supported by the Russian Orthodox leading clergymen conducts continuous interference in internal affairs of the former colonies of the Soviet Union that gained independence at the end of the 20-th century. It is necessary to keep in mind that the Russian Federation is the single country of the former Soviet Union which did not reject nuclear weapons. Moreover, Putin’s regime is far from being recognized as democratic. President Putin made his best to restore the Soviet Union by means of political and economic constraint of the former Soviet colonies to enter the so-called Customs Union that is Eurasian economic cooperation in order to gain military priority in the world and to establish totalitarian regimes in Europe and Asia. Economic growth of communist China and its support of Northern Korean and Iranian military doctrines constitute a menace to the United States and its allies in Asia. Events in the Northern Africa and the Middle East, Afghanistan insurgency, international terrorism, and Pakistan and India armed confrontations demand great attention of the United States and NATO lest a new world war be wakened. I decided to become an Army officer because I love my Motherland. I want my family, relatives, and friends to live in the world which will be free from any form of totalitarianism. I want peoples of the world to enjoy real human rights and live in civil societies. I want children of any country of the world to never die of starvation and bullets of terrorists. I want them go to school, enjoy childhood, and become great people when they grow up. I consider that to become an Army officer is a way to improve myself continuously. Any Army officer should possess such qualities as honor, integrity, and courage. An Army officer should be a leader. I consider that U.S. Army will never be strong without its strong officers. Moreover, officers should be able to inspire that strength in their subordinates. An Army officer should possess such qualities as self-discipline, confidence and intelligence. Thus, I should perform any task despite physical and psychological obstructions. Moreover, I should make quick and correct decisions because Army officers are responsible for life and health of every subordinate soldier. I should be exigent and human regarding subordinate soldiers. Our Army principles are based on democracy and respect for human rights. There is no greater feeling than a feeling of the performed duty. I want to be a leader and will do my best to become a successful Army officer.
